RUSSIA 100 RUBLES 2022 GEM UNC

The Central Bank unveiled the design of the 100-ruble banknote on June 30, 2022. On the same day, the banknote became an official means of payment.

The banknote still did not enter into circulation. The official reason is that ATMs are not configured to accept the new 100-ruble bills, and the software update is currently unavailable due to sanctions. Foreign materials are necessary for printing the banknote, which is currently unavailable due to sanctions (swiss iridescent paint, for example). The back side shows an old map of Russia, which does not include the new regions of the Federation attached during the Ukraine invasion. There is a possibility that the banknote will be modified for circulation, so the current version is very rare at present.

Moscow and Central Federal District are depicted on the banknote. The size of the bill is 150 × 65 mm and matches the new design concept of 200 & 2000-ruble bills previously put into circulation. The primary color is olive.

There are sights of Moscow on the front side: The Kremlin's Spasskaya Tower (the time on the chimes is 20:22, corresponding to the year of the bill's unveiling), the main building of Moscow State University, Zaryadye Park, Ostankino and Shukhov TV towers. On the reverse side, there are monuments on the places of military glory of Russia, located in the Central Federal District: Kulikovo Field and the Rzhevsky Memorial. Also, on the bill, there is a QR code leading to the information page of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, containing information about the means of protection and the artistic content of the bill
